About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Safety Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Product Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a small team in developing a functional Safety Case, managing the production of a Safety Case to a defined schedule, and reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager.

You will undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis, produce written function safety justifications, and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders both external and internal to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team in developing a functional Safety Case
  • Manage the production of a Safety Case to a defined schedule
  • Undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis
  • Produce written function safety justifications
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders both external and internal to the business
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a STEM degree or relevant experience in leading a small team, delivering functional Safety Cases, complex safety analysis and justification, and liaising with stakeholders.

Desirable skills include previous submarine experience, particularly in Vehicle Control and Complex Control Systems.
