About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead a small team in developing a functional Safety Case for our submarine systems. As a key member of our Product Safety team, you will be responsible for managing the production of the Safety Case to a defined schedule and reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager.

Your primary focus will be on undertaking complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis, and producing written function safety justifications. You will also liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including System Engineers and Human Factors Subject Matter Experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team in developing a functional Safety Case
  • Manage the production of the Safety Case to a defined schedule
  • Undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis
  • Produce written function safety justifications
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including System Engineers and Human Factors Subject Matter Experts
Requirements
  • STEM Degree or relevant experience
  • Leading a small team
  • Delivering functional Safety Cases
  • Complex safety analysis and justification
