Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Band 6 Staff Nurse to join our team at Granard House 3 Ward, a specialist care unit for Surgical Oncology patients. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience as a Band 5 and be committed to delivering high-quality patient-focused care.

About the Role

As a Lead Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising shifts, communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and exercising clinical judgment in patient care. You will also participate in trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise shifts, ensuring effective communication with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Exercise clinical judgment in patient care, prioritizing their needs and developing personalized care plans.
  • Participate in trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators, contributing to a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered, adhering to the NMC code of conduct.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate staff. They will be supported to develop their competences and further their studies through the Royal Marsden Hospital School of Cancer Nursing.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately £43,141 - £58,288 per annum, depending on experience.
