Credit Control Administrator (12 month FTC)
Base Location: Watford plus network of 20 offices nationally

This role sits within the Operational Excellence Hubs (OEH), an innovative, agile and collaborative function that provides services to support our client-facing colleagues in the delivery of their work.
The Credit Management department is part of OEH Finance, providing vital credit control support to the Business, working with a wide portfolio of blue-chip companies, delivering excellent customer service on a variety of tasks and activities, and enabling customers to focus on their core business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a best practice procedure to resolve and collect difficult and slow paying debts, maintaining appropriate pressure on clients to settle invoices.
- Manage a percentage of the client debtor ledger, including maintenance of the credit control system to ensure specific steps taken to recover debts are noted and that all account notifications are completed in line with the diary system.
- Provide cover for the wider Credit Control team during periods of leave or absence, including reporting and analysis to the management group as and when required.
- Update and maintain the credit control system, ensuring the specific steps taken to recover debts are noted and that all account notifications are completed in line with the diary system.
- Maintain audit trail files for difficult aged debts, ensuring GDPR rules are adhered to when dealing with confidential client data.
- Obtain permission before contact is made with clients who are not able to be approached without prior consent of the client team.
- Manage cash targets, monitoring cash collection against targets and taking appropriate measures to ensure targets are met and the aged debt profile is kept to a minimum.
- Arrange bad debt write offs, including clients subject to Insolvency, and feed up details to CM management team for authorisation.
- Communicate specific difficult debt issues to CM management team, Engagement teams and Finance Managers where applicable.
- Carry out ad hoc debt requests from internal / external clients, respond to debt reviews and any queries as requested.
- Ensure correct procedures are followed regarding clients who are subject to Litigation, passing all documentation to CM management team for review and legal process.
Requirements:
- CICM or A level educated with B or greater in English and Maths.
- Experience required in a Credit Control or Finance in an operational or professional services environment.
- An understanding of wider credit management processes, including litigation, Insolvency, risk/credit checking and best collection methods.
- Resilient and able to work with multiple demanding stakeholders.
- Problem solving abilities.
Our Locations:
Our core Central Service hub for this role is: Watford. You will be expected to work 2 days in the Watford office.
