As a Deputy Practice Development Nurse, you will be part of the Practice Development team, working closely with the Education Lead and Service Leads to provide direction and leadership in implementing the education, training, and development strategy for district nursing, community matrons, and in-patient rehabilitation units.
About the RoleYou will support the development of high standards of practice and performance, as well as a comprehensive education program for the Neighbourhood Nursing team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying training and development needs of staff within the area, in accordance with local and national policies.
- Supporting staff in the provision of regular local and relevant teaching and training sessions, including provision of professional supervision to facilitate learning.
- Being a source of highly specialist clinical and educational knowledge.
- Delivering training as required, and supporting the delivery of orientation programs for new staff members and ongoing training for qualified and unqualified staff.
- Working with the Practice Development team to contribute to standard setting for nursing practice.
- Participating in the training of staff to monitor the quality of care delivered using clinical standards, and taking necessary action to ensure excellence in nursing practice.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- NMC Level one Registered Nurse Adult.
- Specialist professional knowledge of mentorship, education, and development practice.
- Evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development.
Desirable qualifications include Specialist Practice Teacher, ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification, and post-registration qualification relevant to Service Specialist practitioner District Nursing.
The successful candidate will have post-registration experience within a community setting, and experience of delivering training sessions, supervising/assessing nurses and students in practice, and involvement in educational initiatives. They will also have excellent clinical skills, time management and organisational skills, and excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
