About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Director to join our team at Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited. As a key member of our Operations department, you will play a critical role in driving our data-related strategies and ensuring the effective management of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance plan, aligned with our data strategy, goals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a formal data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support the implementation of the data ownership model across the organization, including assigning different data roles and responsibilities.
  • Drive the data culture at USS, designing and implementing an ongoing training program.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support the selection of data governance tools and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the strategic data program team to deliver our data strategy.
  • Establish connections between Data Governance and other frameworks, such as Operational Risk and Information Security.
  • Act as an ambassador to ensure best practices are effectively embedded in data projects.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on data governance initiatives to executive leadership and stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a data practitioner with proven experience in implementing and maintaining data governance practices. You should have an excellent understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality, data architecture, and data management. Experience working in Investment Management is highly desirable.

You will be a self-starter, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual who wants to make a difference in a team working environment. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
