Job Description:

We are seeking a confident Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students on a daily basis in a mixed comprehensive secondary school in Dewsbury. The successful candidate will have experience supporting students with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour
  • Work with the pastoral team to develop and implement behaviour support plans
  • Provide one-to-one support to students as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour support
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Basic knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques
