Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
Salary / Benefits: 24k - 30k + Training + Benefits
We are seeking a skilled Asbestos Lab Analyst to join our team at a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out bulk sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy, completing job sheets, calibrating equipment, and maintaining the company's UKAS accreditation. This role would suit someone who is looking to join a company with a family-friendly feel who can offer further training and career development, enrolment to a company pension scheme, and excellent holiday allowance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct bulk sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
- Enter samples onto internal systems upon arrival to the laboratory.
- Safely bag and correctly label asbestos samples.
- Complete job sheets upon completion of analysis, returning to clients in a timely manner.
- Ensure equipment is correctly calibrated to obtain accurate results.
- Assist in maintaining the company's UKAS accreditation.
- Ensure the laboratory is always kept clean and tidy.
- Support the training of new starters.
- Liaise with clients when required, providing excellent support and technical advice.
Requirements:
- Hold the BOHS P401 Qualification.
- Experience working hands-on as an Asbestos Lab Analyst for a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy.
- Well-versed in HSG 248 guidelines.
- Able to communicate efficiently.
- Excellent IT skills and a keen eye for detail.
Location: The successful candidate will be based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and will be required to work with a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy that provides asbestos management services to commercial, industrial, and domestic sites across the UK.
