Refrigeration Engineer

Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer - Complex Systems Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Engineer to join our team at The Compleat Food Group. As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of complex refrigeration systems, ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily plant checks to identify potential issues and ensure optimal system performance.
• Monitor and maintain the Plant overview system, responding promptly to faults and anomalies.
• Conduct regular water sampling and testing to ensure the quality and safety of our products.
• Produce permits to work for contractors, overseeing their activities and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Perform building and fabric repairs as required, documenting all work on the CMMS system.
• Top up dosing systems with Bromine and other water treatment chemicals as needed.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM's) and record on the CMMS system.
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks, including fire alarm testing, boiler checks/repairs, and general plant maintenance.
• Participate in daily handovers with colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

• Category 1 FGAS Certificate with previous on-the-job experience.
• Minimum Level 2 Refrigeration related qualification.
• Minimum Level 2 Electrical qualification, preferably with industrial experience.
• Experience working in complex electrical control panels of all voltages.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and experience working with stock count and ordering systems.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
