About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to provide support to students with special educational needs in South Shields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored support to students with SEN.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Help with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks.
  • Support students in developing independence and confidence in their abilities.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to implement individual education plans.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Education or a related field.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students with SEN.
  • Be committed to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all students.

Important Note: This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
