About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Director of SEND Education to join our team at New City College. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role in shaping the future of SEND education.

In this position, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our SEND strategy, ensuring that we provide high-quality educational experiences for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of our SEND strategy, working closely with stakeholders across the college and beyond.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and support for our SEND students.
  • Ensure that our SEND provision is inclusive, accessible, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Mentor and supervise a team of SEND professionals, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.

Requirements
  • A relevant qualification in education or a related field (e.g., teaching, special education).
  • Significant experience in leading and managing teams, particularly in SEND settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A deep understanding of SEND legislation and policy, as well as best practice in SEND education.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in complex situations.
