Job Title: Management Accountant

We are hiring a Management Accountant to join our team of eight in central Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

As a Management Accountant, you will oversee the BAU tasks of the Accounting function within the finance team, ensuring month-end is delivered on time and to a high level of accuracy. The finance team operates within a fast-paced environment, and therefore, we are looking for someone who is keen to get stuck into the role, learn, and take on responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering month-end, including posting journals, ensuring accuracy of the ledger, and managing deadlines within the Accounting team.
  • Implementing accounting policies and procedures and ensuring that these are adhered to.
  • Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure a controlled environment.
  • Monthly payroll process, including journals.
  • Monthly VAT returns.
  • R&D tax credits.
  • Providing support and mentoring to the Financial Accountant and Assistant Accountant.
  • Liasing with the FP&A Manager, particularly during the month-end process.
  • Assisting with the annual audit.
  • Assisting with due diligence through major share issues and investment rounds.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to self-motivate and work autonomously.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • A keenness to learn and take responsibility.
  • Good communication skills.
