The Packing Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Packing Department, including organizing and planning production, meeting KPI targets, and ensuring good housekeeping of the packing and seasoning areas.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and plan the production of the Packing Department to ensure all orders are produced to the correct specification.
- Meet KPI targets agreed with the Factory Manager and General Manager, and work to deliver agreed budget targets for costs and head counts.
- Ensure all finished products and work-in-progress are correctly labelled for traceability, and that all packing records are completed.
- Train and mentor the Packing team.
- Administrate holiday shift patterns with the Factory Manager and in accordance with company policy, ensuring all necessary cover is in place.
- Liaise with HR regarding timekeeping and absences, complying with the company absence procedure & policy, discipline and grievance.
The ideal candidate will have supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced operations, packing, or production environment, and significant experience supervising or managing staff. Experience in the food/meat industry would be advantageous, as would good communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business.
