Research Fellow in Composite Materials Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team at Wrexham University, specializing in Composite Materials Engineering. This fixed-term position will be based in our Advanced Composites Training and Development Centre, a joint initiative with Airbus, and will involve working on high-quality collaborative research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead research projects in composite materials engineering, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Develop research objectives, projects, and proposals, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Utilize advanced facilities, including thermal characterization, SEM, and FTIR microscopy, as well as impact and mechanical testing.
  • Collaborate with the research team and wider academic community to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as materials science or engineering.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desirable: ability to communicate in Welsh.
