Examination Invigilator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Examination Invigilator to support the efficient conduct of public examinations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of exams, maintaining a secure and respectful environment, and providing excellent customer service to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with setting up exam venues, including laying out stationery and papers;
- Organize students on arrival, prior to the exam, and issue relevant exam instructions;
- Ensure exam venues remain quiet and remain vigilant during exams without disturbing students;
- Deal with queries raised by students appropriately, seeking advice where necessary;
- Report any discrepancies, disturbances, or irregularities in procedures to the Examinations Officer promptly;
- Check attendance and record details of late arrivals and early leavers;
- Lead students from venues during exams as required and supervise students outside venues and between exams as required;
- Collect scripts at the end of the exam in accordance with procedures;
- Check and collate all scripts and ensure their safe delivery to the Exams Office;
- Supervise the departure of students at the end of the exam;
- Read and/or scribe for students where required (for which training will be provided).
Requirements:
- A good level of literacy and numeracy;
- Ability to work in partnership with a wide range of teaching and support staff members to deliver the service to the Academy and its students;
- Be able to work with minimal supervision and initiative;
- Effective organizational skills and excellent communication skills to respond to staff and students.
Working Arrangements:
The successful candidate will be required to work on a flexible basis, at mutually agreed times, and will be expected to be available for main exams (May and June) and mocks scheduled in February, April, and November. Invigilator training is scheduled to take place on a specified date, and the successful candidate will be required to attend this training.
