Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mixed primary and secondary SEN school in Darwen. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing academic support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, promoting their cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development.
  • Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their engagement and participation in learning activities.
  • Support the general class teacher in planning and evaluating learning activities, ensuring that pupils receive high-quality education.
  • Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress, informing teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities, ensuring that pupils receive a well-rounded education.

Requirements:

  • No specific qualifications necessary, but a care/support/health background is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work part-time or full-time, with options for temp to perm positions available.
  • PAYE Contract, with a competitive hourly rate of £12.90+ depending on additional duties and experience.
  • Enhanced Child only Disclosure and Barring Service Check required.
