Director of Curriculum and Education

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Curriculum and Education. This position will play a crucial part in shaping the College's academic programs and ensuring they meet the needs of local and national skills priorities.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering high-quality education and learner experience, with a strong focus on curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation. They will be responsible for leading a team of Curriculum Team Leaders and managing a range of curriculum departments.

The ideal candidate will be innovative, strategic, and able to think critically, with excellent communication and leadership skills. They will be committed to the College's core values and have a passion for education and learner success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the College's curriculum strategy
  • Manage a team of Curriculum Team Leaders and curriculum departments
  • Ensure the College's academic programs meet local and national skills priorities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers and industry partners
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the College's curriculum

Requirements:

  • Qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths
  • Proven experience in education leadership and curriculum development
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to think critically and strategically
  • Commitment to the College's core values
