Instrumentation and Control Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Expert to join our Active Vehicle Control (AVC) team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, managing, and supporting control systems for in-service/future submarines.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in C&I systems design, a degree-level qualification in a relevant STEM subject, and a deep understanding of the system engineering lifecycle. You will be able to apply good systems engineering practices to your work and lead technical work packages, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards.
This role offers a range of benefits, including a competitive salary (£70,000 - £90,000 per annum), a pension scheme, employee share plans, and an extensive range of health and wellbeing benefits. Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing C&I systems for submarines
- Integrating systems containing electronic, mechanical, and software sub-systems
- Verifying customer needs through qualification and test activities
Requirements:
- Chartered engineer or working towards this level
- Understanding of C&I systems design and demonstrable career experience with these systems
- Knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle and good systems engineering practices
