Communications and Marketing Lead

We are seeking a skilled Communications and Marketing Lead to join our team at West Sussex County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a communications and marketing strategy for the new West Sussex Economic Growth Board.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy to promote the West Sussex Economic Growth Board and its initiatives.
  2. Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Economic Development Managers on effective delivery of communications and marketing activity.
  3. Lead on the development and delivery of digital platforms, building digital engagement and digital marketing campaigns, Public Relations and partnership marketing.
  4. Procure and manage relationships with contractors, delivery partners and advertisers, where appropriate, to achieve the Communications and Marketing strategy.
  5. Contribute to, or lead as appropriate, new communications proposals by providing information about practical application.
  6. Advise on budgets related to the marketing workstreams of the WSEGB (marketing campaigns, public relations and web site) and on external communications contracts across the wider EGT.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in communications and marketing, with a focus on digital marketing and Public Relations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
