Job Description

To ensure the successful delivery of complex technology-focused projects and workstreams within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of technology projects from inception to completion, liaising with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop and manage technology project plans, integrating them with the wider business project and technology programme where relevant.
  • Manage changes to project scope, time, or quality through relevant change control procedures.
  • Progress report project status within defined governance structures, both written and verbal, to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, ensuring effective mitigations are in place and escalating to the technology management team and CTO as required.
  • Control project budgets, tracking and reporting performance, and identifying potential over/underspend, taking remedial action as needed.
  • Ensure clear communication plans are in place with internal and external stakeholders, considering people and customer change implications through the overall project plan.

Agile Working

  • Ensure all projects are delivered to agreed processes and procedures, operating within the agile development framework for most development projects.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members, influencing them to take proactive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Play an effective role within the technology management team, utilizing knowledge and experience to support the team's delivery requirements.
  • Drive clear and concise communication through all teams.

Qualifications

  • Project management certification.
  • Degree educated preferably in computer science or a numerical subject.

Knowledge

  • Proven experience of delivering complex software development, platform enhancement, and platform and data migration projects.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the technology project lifecycle.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of agile software development projects and delivery methodologies – ideally NEXUS SCRUM methodology.
  • Experience of bringing significant projects to completion through challenging conditions.
  • Experience of working with remote multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience of managing and bringing together diverse cultures.
  • A recognized qualification and/or significant experience of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Technical skills from previous roles, e.g., software development, DBA, etc., are desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading and delivering software projects within a B2C SaaS business.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working directly with product and technology teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading and delivering software projects across a centralized global SaaS platform.
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure for management and tracking is desirable.
