Senior Project Manager Opportunity

This exciting role is for a high-performing senior project manager to lead a unique project with over £200 million of investment in our second-largest wastewater treatment works.

This will directly contribute to Thames Water's Capital Delivery programme and Turnaround plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client-side Senior Project Manager responsible for the investment from initial design through construction and completion
  • Overall accountability for project programme, cost, and quality and leading the project team to meet project objectives
  • Establish a project health and safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset
  • Working collaboratively with our external supply chain and driving contractor performance
  • Support the definition of solutions to meet the project objectives and be responsible for preparing a clear business case
  • Effective liaison with the relevant town planning authorities and critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery
  • Contribute to steering project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets
  • Commercially manage all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering complex projects in the built environment, infrastructure, or utility industry
  • An engineering or other relevant degree or qualification within a business or project management qualification
  • Knowledgeable in managing contract specification preparation, tendering, and tender evaluation processes with experience in negotiation
  • Demonstrate your capability with risk-based and analytical decision-making
  • Confidence in speaking to all levels of external and internal stakeholders
