Records Management and Compliance Officer

Adecco UK LTD invites applications for a Records Management and Compliance Officer to work in Wakefield.
This is a temporary position until February 2026, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday with hybrid working arrangements. £31,400 - £43,600 per annum, depending on experience.
The purpose of this role is to support the Records and MOPI functions in compliance with data protection principles, ensuring that force information and personal data is accessible, adequate, relevant, not excessive, accurate, and not kept longer than necessary. You will also support the promotion and implementation of records management and MOPI standards, policies, and procedures to ensure lawful information handling, improve service delivery, and protect the Force's information.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, adhering to the Police Code of Ethics, and reinforce the importance of force values and behavioural expectations in decision-making and actions.
- Manage performance, attendance, and wellbeing of police officers and staff against required standards, ensuring timely support and adherence to correct policies and procedures.
- Treat others with dignity, fairness, and respect, embodying West Yorkshire Police's approach to Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) and promoting it in daily duties and interactions.
- Support Records Management and MOPI, ensuring compliance with data protection act principles, APP, relevant standards, and best practices, particularly in data quality and retention.
- Work closely with Data and Information Standards Officers to ensure high-quality work, meeting statutory and agreed timescales.
- Act as a key liaison between departments, providing expert advice and guidance on record management and MOPI.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, including standards operating procedures, audit trails, and privacy impact assessments.
