British American Tobacco is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Project Coordinator to join our Research & Development function in Southampton. As an Undergraduate Intern, you will play a key role in developing and delivering commercial manufacturing solutions for new-to-world and new-to-group technologies and products.

About the Role

This 12-month placement will provide you with the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from ideation to delivery, and collaborate with a diverse team of experts. You will be responsible for taking part in live projects, visiting suppliers in Europe, and working in an industrial setting to write reports and improve presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in multiple live projects and contribute to all aspects of a project's lifecycle
  • Visit suppliers in Europe and travel within the UK
  • Work in an industrial setting, writing reports, and developing presentation skills
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Next Generation Products, Research & Development, and Procurement
  • Cross-functional working and participation in other research activities will be encouraged

Requirements

  • Working towards a degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Mechatronic Engineering or a related subject
  • Knowledge of CAD and its applications
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Intuitive designer with knowledge of project planning tools
  • Ability to work with speed and precision and deliver against agreed priorities
