About the Job

Zumtobel is seeking a Head of Technology and Innovation to lead the Technology and Innovation team at our site in Spennymoor. As the local leader, you will be responsible for driving technology innovation, developing and aligning the technology roadmap, leading key product developments, and inspiring and leading the team.

Main Accountabilities:

• Drive Technology Innovation: Lead the development of new technologies for emergency lighting and sensors, from initial concept to functional prototype and transfer to development.
• Develop and Align Strategy: Create and align the technology roadmap with product strategies, ensuring a seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies into future product lines.
• Lead Key Product Developments: Spearhead major new product concepts that enhance the company's portfolio and strengthen market positioning.
• Inspire and Lead the Team: Mentor and support team members in their professional development, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Provide Cross-Functional Technical Support: Offer expert guidance to Product Development, Purchasing, Production, and R&D teams, ensuring technical challenges are efficiently resolved.
• Global Collaboration and Market Awareness: Engage with the global organization, stay up-to-date on market trends and emerging technologies, and maintain a competitive edge.
• Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop strong relationships with research institutions and industry partners to drive collaborative technology development projects.

Your Profile:

• A degree in Electronics/Physics or similar.
• Experience in electronic design in a comparable field.
• Able to demonstrate a record in concept designing and developing Switch Mode Power Supplies.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in developing a team.
• Ability to network effectively and build strong internal and external relationships.
• Open-minded and innovative with an outside-the-box mindset.
