About the Job

As a Companion Volunteer for Marie Curie in Glasgow, you will have the opportunity to provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families in a hospice setting.

Job Description:
  • Visit with patients alone or with their loved ones, providing emotional support and a listening ear
  • Allow family members or carers to take a break while you spend time with their loved one
  • Signpost patients and their families to other services and resources as needed
Requirements:
  • Good listening skills and ability to build rapport with others
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and adapt to changing situations
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development

Salary: £14.75 per hour, based on 3 hours per week commitment.
