About the Role

As a Gas Inspector at Capita, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of gas installations across the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections of gas appliances and systems to identify any potential risks or hazards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute inspections of gas appliances and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assess the safety and integrity of gas installations, identifying any defects or hazards.
  • Collaborate with registered businesses to address identified defects and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports to document findings and recommendations.
  • Take appropriate action when unsafe gas work is discovered during inspections.
  • Manage consumer expectations and address any concerns or issues.

Requirements

  • Valid ACS certificates, including CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1.
  • Additional ACS certificates in LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1, and DAH1 are highly desirable.
  • Auditor qualification (D32/A1) or equivalent are desirable.
  • Experience working with various gas appliances or quality control of gas work.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, related codes and normative documents.
  • Ability to risk assess environments.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
  • Understanding of challenges faced by gas, plumbing, electrical, and H&V installation businesses.
