We are seeking an experienced Transportation and Logistics Manager to join our team at Reed Talent Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our Road Logistics Department and ensuring that business objectives are met while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement an effective road and rail logistics strategy to achieve company objectives, including the management of a fleet of internally owned HGV vehicles and additional haulier contractors.
- Team Management: Manage an office-based team, including a transport manager and a team of logistics planners, to ensure the smooth operation of logistics movements.
- Logistics Planning: Assess medium and long-term business road and rail logistics needs and adapt the operating model accordingly.
- Contractor Management: Manage and engage with key third-party logistics contractors to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Health and Safety: Implement and manage an effective HSE program that aligns with the company's HSE strategy.
- Logistics Operations: Oversee the management of between 400 and 500 logistics movements daily.
- Experience: 5 years' experience in senior logistics management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing logistics strategies.
- Qualifications: Transport Management CPC qualification is essential.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively develop and implement business strategy, efficiently lead and motivate large teams, and build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
