About this opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Trade Sales Director to join our Corporate Trade sales team based in London or Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will originate new business, generating growth within the portfolio and identifying new opportunities.

Our team is a specialist product team providing our corporate clients with working capital solutions across traditional trade, open account, structured trade and commodity finance, ECA and asset finance.

The team supports our clients across three segments: Corporate Sector Coverage, Services, Public Sector and Regions and Real Estate and Housing.

You will have a directly allocated client portfolio alongside direct sales goals to meet our ambition of significantly growing the size of our business. This role forms a key connectivity between Coverage, Credit, Trade Product and Trade Services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Defining the sales strategy and business plans for allocated portfolio and securing strategic internal support from partners to identify and satisfy customer needs in the most appropriate way.
  2. Meeting Group risk and profitability requirements to deliver targeted growth in the Trade and Working Capital business in terms of Income and Assets.
  3. Maintaining product relationships within the portfolio of existing and agreed target clients.
  4. Identifying customer needs to develop, structure and review proposals to meet customer requirements. Recognising opportunities to develop further income and economic profit, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions to clients.
  5. Maintaining a full understanding of our product sets including traditional trade, open account, structured trade and commodity finance and asset finance.
  6. Preparing and submitting credit applications in conjunction with Coverage and STEM, aligned with defined strategy and engaging with colleagues in Product, Delivery, Lending Execution and Risk as appropriate.
  7. Acting as client point of contact for all transactions for Trade and Working Capital Sales, with the ability to confidently discuss technical and operational aspects of transactions.
  8. Identifying product gaps or new product opportunities to influence the development of key new product service initiatives and more efficient delivery channels.
  9. Ensuring customer treatment and other regulatory requirements are met and following Group and Regulatory policy in order to protect and enhance the bank's reputation.
  10. Supporting the development of team members across Trade Sales as we look to collaborate in order to deliver together.
  11. Working with colleagues and product partners to align strategies and optimise opportunities for Lloyds Banking Group, while following Group strategy and policy to protect the bank.
