About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Calibration Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our calibration department, you will be responsible for performing and supervising high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing and supervising calibration and repair of TMDE, including resource management and calibration workload signoff
  • Developing and reviewing calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Participating in UKAS (ISO 17025) audits and achieving UKAS signatory status
  • Delivering on-the-job training and experiential learning to apprentices and team members
  • Communicating with technical stakeholders and consulting on new measurement technologies
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in a precision electrical metrology laboratory environment
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND or equivalent)
Desirable Skills:

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration
  • Experience in creating measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level
  • Experience in using automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview)
  • Experience in mechanical, dimensional, and temperature calibrations
