Role Overview

This role will work as part of the accounts team, carrying out duties that include sales ledger management, purchase ledger management, statement reconciliation, debt recovery, and dealing with queries to ensure the smooth running of the accounts department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Log supplier/sub-contractor invoices onto the computerised finance system.
  • Check the accuracy of price/quantity calculations, disputing incorrect invoices, requesting credit notes for overcharges, and recording receipt of same.
  • Ensure all costs are allocated to the correct nominal account/project/department.
  • Reconcile supplier/sub-contractor statements.
  • Make payments to suppliers/sub-contractors in line with scheduled payment dates.
  • Assist colleague Accounts Administrators in dealing with customer/supplier queries.
  • Answer the telephone and deal with general inquiries.
Requirements
  • 2 years experience of working in a finance department in a similar role.
  • Data input experience.
  • IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: Part / Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI) or qualified by experience. Sage 200 Accounts experience.
