About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Thanet Community Mental Health Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Participate in service planning and business development activities, contributing to the growth and improvement of our mental health services.
  • Collaborate with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services and share best practices with consultant colleagues.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Attend and participate in academic programs, including lectures and seminars, to enhance your professional development and contribute to the internal CPD program.

Requirements
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
