Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • This is a key role that will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing, facility and lab equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve engineering issues impacting safety, service and product quality.
  • Perform routine and complex repairs, installations and modifications on manufacturing, facilities and lab equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including spare parts usage and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with site-specific safety procedures and standards, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices in maintenance and calibration techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as mechanical engineering or a technical trade certificate/apprenticeship/traineeship.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, preferably in an engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant standards and methods employed in calibration activities.
  • Familiarity with Quality Systems and their application in a manufacturing setting.

Estimated Salary Range:

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum
