About the Role

The Maintenance Lead will play a pivotal role in the production line team, overseeing and delivering defined engineering processes within their area. This includes reducing machine stoppages and ensuring the correct level of asset care and maintenance strategy is deployed to each equipment item.

The successful candidate will lead and coach the entire area team to deliver true Autonomous Maintenance, reviewing losses within the area, developing action plans, and delivering sustained improvement results.

As a key resource, the Maintenance Lead will ensure the correct level of engineering capability is achieved within the team to progress the zero loss journey. This role will also require the candidate to play a key role in the delivery of their own improvement initiatives and larger capital projects for their area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning and Scheduling DMs (Daily Maintenance) for the lines
  • Review of all breakdowns and deployment of the appropriate countermeasure to prevent reoccurrence
  • Overseeing the Maintenance Planning for their area
  • Providing updates during DDS (Daily Direction Setting meeting) to review breakdowns and Maintenance plans from the last 24hrs
  • Preparing and leading the scheduling of the maintenance work for the next week during the weekly maintenance meeting
  • Working with other Maintenance Leads to support the Progressive Maintenance (PM) Pillar by updating key KPI's and attending Pillar meetings
  • Preparing the schedules for monthly maintenance work as dictated by the annual maintenance plan and as previously identified during the monthly meeting
  • Assisting the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Pillar by building capability within our daily management systems

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have a minimum level 3 electrical qualification with hands-on experience, ideally with an HNC/HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline. They will have previously worked with a TPM/RCM maintenance environment and have proven strong engineering and problem-solving skills. Experience of utilising Lean tools and techniques, as well as previous coaching experience, is highly desirable.
