We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Group Claims team at Hiscox. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis across our diverse portfolio, building and maintaining Machine Learning models on the Group Claims Data Platform, and operating across various territories and business platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and industrialize statistical/analytical models to predict claims outcomes, solve business problems, and influence underwriting/reserving strategies.
- Work with Senior and Executive level stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and communicate effectively.
- Take ownership of complex problems and be the gatekeeper of industry best practices.
- Design and develop analytical models on the cloud data platform following best practices for end-to-end model lifecycle.
- Manage and deliver ad-hoc analytics requests from business stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of data science, analytics platforms/ML domains, especially GenAI and NLP.
- Experience with frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX) and LLM's (e.g. prompt engineering, fine tuning, RAG).
- Experience building and fine-tuning various ML Models (supervised and unsupervised models, classification, clustering, regression etc).
- Strong coding experience in Python, in a data science context, and a good grounding in SQL.
- Up-to-date knowledge of data privacy & security standards in an Insurance context.
- Comfortable with manipulating and analysing large datasets, including data cleansing, to provide insight to the business.
