We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Housing Options team as a Homelessness Advisor. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality, customer-focused advice and assistance to vulnerable families and single people in Derby who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line advice services to customers, managing a caseload of your own with the aim of preventing homelessness wherever possible.
  • Assess individual situations with efficiency and precision, using an investigative approach to probe and understand each individual's circumstances.
  • Make decisions within a legal framework, ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 Part 7, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Work closely with colleagues and customers to deliver a high-quality customer service, utilizing strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Requirements
