Job Title: Homelessness Advisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Homelessness Advisor. As a key member of our Housing Options team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality advice and assistance to vulnerable families and single people in Derby who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line advice and support to customers, managing a caseload of your own to prevent homelessness wherever possible.
  • Assess individual situations with efficiency and precision, using an investigative approach to probe and understand each customer's circumstances.
  • Work closely with colleagues and customers to deliver a high-quality customer service, using strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Have a good understanding of relevant housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
