This is an exciting opportunity for a semiconductor company to hire an Engineering Director to lead a team of highly skilled engineers responsible for technology and product design with a focus on IC and packaging design.
The successful candidate will be involved in R&D projects overseeing the full life cycle, from concept to product release. They will be responsible for day-to-day line management of the team and providing technical leadership, developing new products, meeting cost and performance targets for semiconductor device development at the forefront of GaN device R&D.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in developing ICs for mass production, be experienced in project management with the ability to inspire confidence in teams, colleagues, partners and customers, and have excellent communication and presentation skills.
About the Role
- Lead a team of 10-15 engineers in technology and product design
- Oversee R&D projects from concept to product release
- Develop new products meeting cost and performance targets
- Conduct feasibility studies of novel GaN IC features and product concepts
About the Company
The company is a leading early-stage semiconductor company working on GaN development for the power electronics market. They are developing energy-efficient GaN-based power devices to make greener electronics possible.
This role is based at the company's design centre in Cambridge, UK and some travel will be required from time to time for this role.
