We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Paediatric Surgeon to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Surgeon with a CCT or within 6 months of completion of CCT to take on a leadership role in our Paediatric Surgical department.

The successful candidate will have the ability to manage an acute neonatal and general paediatric surgical take, including a substantial quantity of paediatric trauma. They will be expected to support and develop the service which consists of neonatal surgery, acute paediatric surgery and specialised paediatric urological surgery.

This role requires the provision of high-quality, accessible consultant-led services in paediatric surgery. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake appropriate review and action on cases admitted during attending weeks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a high-quality, accessible consultant-led service in paediatric surgery
  • Managing an acute neonatal and general paediatric surgical take, including paediatric trauma
  • Supporting and developing the service in neonatal surgery, acute paediatric surgery, and specialised paediatric urological surgery
  • Undertaking appropriate review and action on cases admitted during attending weeks
