Reception Phase Lead Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Reception Phase Lead to join our team at a superb school in Slough. As a specialist recruitment agency with over 20 years of experience in the education field, Wayman Education is committed to providing excellent teaching professionals to schools across England.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, where both professional and personal development are highly valued. As a Reception Phase Lead, you will be responsible for leading the educational direction of the phase and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the EYFS phase and collaborate with teaching staff to develop effective teaching strategies and curriculum plans
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure academic growth
  • Implement and uphold school policies and procedures, fostering a positive and safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a strong sense of community within the phase and promote cross-curricular learning opportunities
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or queries
  • Lead and participate in regular professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with educational practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience as a Reception teacher, ideally with experience in a leadership or phase lead role
  • Excellent knowledge of the primary education curriculum and current teaching methods
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to learn and implement new teaching strategies
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

About the School

This is a wonderful school in Slough, easily accessible by public transport. We are seeking to appoint a qualified Reception Phase Lead from January 2024. This 2 form entry school has a Good Ofsted rating. The school has a supportive culture and is an excellent place for both students and staff members.
