Job Title: Welfare Benefits Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our team at Action on Disability. As a key member of our Welfare Benefits Service, you will provide expert advice and assistance to disabled residents and their carers in Hammersmith and Fulham borough.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality welfare benefits advice and casework, including representation at tribunals.
  • Write Mandatory Reconsideration requests and appeal submissions.
  • Undertake direct welfare advice and casework.
  • Maintain accurate records of work undertaken using our electronic recording system.
  • Gather information to monitor and evaluate the service.
  • Assist with funding applications and tender bids.
  • Contribute to welfare benefits-related publicity material and reports.
Requirements:
  • Work in a person-centred way.
  • Produce regular monitoring and progress reports.
  • Comply with our agreed policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development of the service and contribute to service improvement.
  • Be computer literate and administratively self-supporting.
