Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Charge Nurse to join our team at University Hospital Crosshouse. As a Deputy Charge Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of care programs for a defined caseload of patients, working within the professional standards of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Charge Nurse in the effective and efficient management of all nursing resources, including budget and staff, within your defined area of responsibility.
- Act as shift leader on a regular basis and assist in the continuing leadership and monitoring of the performance and work of the nursing team.
- Participate in audit and quality assurance programs and contribute to the teaching and supervision of junior and student nurses and nursing auxiliaries as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty or equivalent experience.
- Ability to keep relevant skills and knowledge updated and evidenced.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Working Hours:
37 hours per week
