Group Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Accounting Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading the consolidation and accounting processes for our group holding companies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the timely and thorough review of the group consolidation each month, identifying and addressing any risks or discrepancies.
- Develop and implement strategies for the adoption of new accounting standards, such as FRS 102 and IFRS 15, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in the quality of financial accounting within the regions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual lender covenant reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the technical aspects of the year-end consolidation work, including multiple jurisdictions and currencies, disclosures, keynotes, statutory cash flow statements, impairment reviews, and SECR reporting.
- Work closely with auditors to produce and review statutory financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the team, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Line manage a team of two, responsible for month-end and year-end accounting for group holding companies.
- Maintain the integrity of group reporting systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy of cost centers, chart of accounts, and month-end transaction refreshes.
- Oversee intercompany position reconciliations and manage group holding company cash positions, including forecasting and management of ERP test environments.
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and relevant experience in a similar role.
- Audit or statutory reporting proficiency, preferably gained in a top 10 accountancy practice.
- UK GAAP proficiency, with experience of multiple currency consolidation.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Energetic and self-motivated, with a passion for working in a fast-paced business environment.
