Job Title: Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team at The Workshop. As a Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting our infrastructure, applications, and services from security threats.

About the Role

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and managing security systems across our entire infrastructure, data, and applications.
  • Working with networks, applications, and engineering teams to ensure our technology platforms, infrastructure, and systems are hardened and observable.
  • Providing technical guidance and direction to product delivery teams on security architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of security solutions.
  • Proactively identifying security problems and improvements to be made within systems and applications deployment.
  • Assisting with enforcing security standards, policies, and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Working with vendors and internal stakeholders to provide effective incident resolution.
  • Staying abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and continuously improving our posture on security.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years' experience in the security industry working in a technical role.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, security principles, and frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, etc.
  • Experience with threat modelling and basic technical risk assessment.
  • Experience in developing secure code and implementing secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience in dealing with security incidents and breaches, and performing incident response and forensics.
  • Design and implementation of enterprise security tools, including IDS/IPS, content filtering, or SIEM.
  • In-depth understanding of network OSI model and web protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
  • A team player mindset, able to articulate security-related concepts to different levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, taking multiple initiatives forward at the same time.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Full English professional proficiency.
