We are seeking a seasoned Consultant Psychiatrist to take on the role of Associate Medical Director at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished clinical leader to shape and deliver the clinical strategy for our services, aligning with the Trust's strategic objectives.

As Associate Medical Director, you will work collaboratively with the Salford, Trafford and Talking Therapies Clinical Care group leadership team to develop and implement the overall clinical strategy. You will have close working relationships with commissioners and other relevant partners, contributing to service development and delivery of the Trust Service Improvement plan.

Your responsibilities will include articulating a vision for your services, communicating effectively with all partners, and supporting the Medical Director and Deputy Medical Director in delivering the wider Trust clinical strategy. You may also lead on specific clinical developments across the Trust, taking charge of relevant leadership responsibilities for those reporting directly to you.

In this role, you will work closely with the Associate Director of Operations and the Associate Director of Nursing for the Care Group, functioning as a collaborative leadership team. You will be supported in individual and team development by the executive management team and through a bespoke OD programme. Co-location with the Care Group leadership team is expected.

To be successful, you will promote collective, collaborative leadership throughout your services, embodying the values of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT. With over 6,400 staff members and services delivered from more than 160 locations, we offer a unique environment that fosters innovation, originality, and excitement. Our teams provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, Manchester, Salford, Trafford, and Wigan, as well as specialist services across Greater Manchester and beyond.

Job Requirements:

  • Consultant Psychiatrist with GMC registration
  • CCT or equivalent in Psychiatry
  • AC/S12 Approved
  • Significant track record of employment at substantive consultant level, working in a mental health provider
  • Considerable experience in clinical leadership roles
  • Evidence of leading service change with consultant colleagues
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current health agenda
  • Sound knowledge of clinical governance and effective systems of medical management
