Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a SEN pupil as 1:1 support in a Primary School.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and defuse pupils' behavioral moments in a compassionate and calm tone.
  • Help and support the pupil through their education, providing extra support to stay focused and understand learning tasks.
  • Work with individual learners in the classroom 1:1, or work with individuals or small groups.
  • Keep track and record pupil progress and communicate with the SENCO.
  • Build a trust and bond with the pupil, ensuring their safety at all times.
Requirements:
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
