Job Title: Chief Finance Officer

We are seeking an experienced Chief Finance Officer to join our team at Business Smart Solutions. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and managing a team of staff who are responsible for Finance and Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction to the Finance and Commercial team
  • Ensuring the Council is statutorily compliant on all financial matters
  • Developing and implementing financial plans and strategies to support the delivery of the Council's objectives
  • Managing and implementing projects, interventions, and initiatives to deliver corporate objectives and business plans
  • Recruiting and supervising interim staff and providing functional and operational leadership
  • Reviewing and implementing business process changes to drive further efficiencies and cost savings
  • Ensuring sound financial and resource management across the service
  • Liaising with managers across the Council to monitor relevant information systems

Requirements:

  • Be an existing S151 officer in a Local Authority
  • Have an enhanced DBS
  • Have a management or Leadership qualification such as CMI Level 5 or higher
  • Be a member of an accounting body listed in the Local Government Finance Act 1988
  • Have evidence of Continuous and Professional Development (CPD)
