About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Specialist to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our environmental risk management department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data collection methods, conducting surveys, performing stochastic modelling and analysis, and ensuring thorough testing and reporting using advanced mathematical and statistical tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial risk models that address climate and nature risk issues for our clients
  • Design and integrate large geographic and time series data, such as weather data, geo-demographics, economic trending data
  • Lead analytical initiatives and deliver insightful risk assessments
Requirements
  • At least a 2:1 degree in statistics, applied mathematics or other equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in a professional setting, either public or private sector
  • Excellent knowledge of open and licensed statistical packages and languages such as SPSS, R, SciPy, ROOT, Pandas, MATLAB, Octave, GAUSS etc.
  • Proficient programming skills (e.g. Python)
  • Project management experience / certification
  • Understanding of risk management, disaster risk reduction, and macro-economics
