Job Overview:
We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor/Youth Specialist to join our team in Leeds. This role is ideal for individuals who want to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and help them achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with young people, identifying and addressing behavioural challenges that hinder their ability to engage in education and personal development. They will build strong relationships, foster a supportive environment, and promote resilience and self-confidence.

This is a full-time equivalent (FTE) post, funded by the DfE 16 to 18 Study Programme Funding (NEET funding for Leeds City young people). The salary for this position is estimated at £25,000 to £30,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement strategies to support young people in overcoming behavioural challenges.
  2. Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging group sessions, promoting personal and social development.
  3. Provide one-on-one mentoring to help learners set goals and track their progress.
  4. Work with external agencies, families, and support networks to provide holistic support to young people.
  5. Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to monitoring and evaluation reports.

Requirements:
  1. A strong passion for working with young people, especially those facing behavioural issues or challenges in education or personal life.
  2. Ability to see beyond challenging behaviour and help learners develop the skills they need to succeed.
  3. Experience working with young people with behavioural issues, although formal teaching qualifications are not required (training can be provided).
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
