Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Resource Base at Saltley Academy. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, working closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the teacher in planning, preparing and delivering lessons to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist students with their learning, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.
  • Help to maintain a safe and organized learning environment, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Contribute to the development of the school's Resource Base provision, working collaboratively with other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in teaching or a related field, such as NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience of working in a school environment, preferably in a Resource Base or similar setting.
  • Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience of working with students with Autism.
  • Proven skills in supporting students with special educational needs, including experience of developing and implementing individualized learning plans.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicating effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
