Senior Management Accountant Opportunity

Marks Sattin is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organisation in the Hinckley area to find a Senior Management Accountant for a full-time, permanent role. This position requires on-site work, Monday to Friday, with a half-day finish on Fridays.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of costing principles. They should be familiar with manufacturing and factory management software, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering sectors.

As a Senior Management Accountant, you will provide commercial insight and analysis to support the Senior Leadership Team's decision-making process. You will also collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise two Accounts Assistants
  • Support the Finance Director in identifying suitable KPIs to monitor business performance
  • Develop financial models to track key metrics and trend analysis
  • Highlight risks and opportunities through sound financial analysis and commercial insight
  • Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc projects
  • Prepare accurate cash forecasting based on expected daily sales invoicing and supplier payments
  • Monitor and report on debtor and creditor terms, ensuring risks are highlighted and actioned
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all General Ledger Balance Sheet accounts
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Reconcile monthly Management Accounts to the General Ledger
Requirements:
  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong costing background
  • Factory Management Software experience
  • Good understanding of financial controls and processes
  • Experience of financial forecasting and planning
  • Proficient Excel user and comfortable extracting data from ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Natural drive to improve processes where necessary
  • Great communicator with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
